Being married doesn't make one a better boss
As a single living in Singapore, you can't buy a government-subsidized flat until you hit 35. Even then, you're permitted to purchase only second-hand flats and not newly-built ones from the housing board authorities, which are typically cheaper. The flight Philippine Airlines is missing
About four weeks ago, during the time when Philippine Airlines (PAL) was hogging the headlines after a huge number of its pilots deserted the carrier for other airlines, I was notified via e-mail of a discounted miles promo being offered to the company's frequent flyer.....

A new sense of IT order
After appointing a new chair for the CICT (Commission on Information and Communications Technology), the country's new president, Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, appears ready to pump new life to the local economy, particularly the IT and BPO sector. The selection of technology lawyer Ivan Uy as.....

Isn't IT ironic?
I was listening to Alanis Morissette sing with much angst in my car the other night when it struck me that the IT world is fraught with irony. Take the recent DBS Bank fiasco, for example, banks and most financial services providers typically load their.....

Is iPhone 4 suitable for business users?
The Apple iPhone 4 launches this Friday (Jul. 30) in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and 14 other countries. Is the phone suitable for business users? Here's my take on the latest iPhone after using it for work over the past 4 weeks: The iPhone 4's operating.....

Taobao initiates Chinese open source revolution
In my previous post where I talked about "Linux and FOSS no longer being the underdog", changes continued to take place in a way that we, promoters of free and open source software, have been waiting for, and for years. Three years ago I remember.....
